J. Javier Valdez

Community Manager

After almost two decades in the private sector, Javier decided to bring his commitment to Latino culture, multicultural organizing, community engagement, and developing local leaders to his day job. Outside of his work as the Program Manager of the Lynn Calm Team, you can find Javier at The Gathering Place North Shore, or in the Lynn community with his wife and two daughters.

Jorge Taya Tobalino

Community Support Specialist

Always willing to help, Community Support Specialist Jorge Taya Tobalino values the power of connection and community. A former member of JUMISEPA at Most Holy Redeemer Church in East Boston, he helped organize retreats and fundraisers. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, hiking, and beach walks with his family.

Candice McClory

SUD Coordinator & Community Liaison @ City of Lynn

With years of harm reduction and overdose prevention experience, Candice is thrilled to support the Lynn Calm Team by leading the LCT’s harm reduction and substance use efforts. Candice is passionate about reducing stigma and barriers for people who use drugs and their families. Candice is raising three boys in Lynn.

As an immigrant who fled violence and persecution, he has firsthand insight into the challenges faced by immigrant communities. For over a decade, he has dedicated himself to supporting refugees and immigrants in Greater Boston. He brings a deep commitment to racial justice and equity in Lynn, where he has proudly made his home since 2019.

Faustina has been working with the community to build the Lynn Calm Team since 2020. A tireless advocate for social justice, proud mixed-race Latina, and a lifelong Lynner, Faustina is thrilled to see the Lynn Calm Team come to life. Faustina can be spotted around Lynn with her adorable son.


Community Advisory Committee

The Community Advisory Committee provides consultation and feedback to the Mayor’s Office and Public Health Department on the Lynn Calm Team (LCT) messaging, public awareness, and community presence, ensuring that the LCT effectively represents the needs of the public and remains accountable to its mission, vision, and values.
